The RAC Challenge: Preparing for Medicare Recovery Auditing

This full day workshop provides a look inside the Medicare recovery audit contractor (RAC) program responsible for identifying Medicare overpayment and underpayments. The workshop focuses on the outcomes and lessons learned in the RAC demonstration program and the revisions implemented in the permanent RAC program. Participants will study the strategies to prepare for a RAC review and will take an in-depth tour of the Medicare appeals process at each of the five appeals levels. This workshop explores the process of tracking claims and ensuring successful appeals. Interactive discussion is encouraged. This workshop is approved for 6.0 nursing contact hours by the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) and for .60 AOTA CEUs.
